Yesterday was my father’s 3rd year death anniversary. He was diagnosed with 4th stage lung cancer on December 2005 and was given 6 months to live. He passed away after 10 months, exactly 1 month after his 64th birthday. I was in Singapore then and Chiara was only 4 months old. He did not see her and I wished I was with him on his last days… It seems ages ago, miss him terribly but I’m at peace with it.
On the brighter side of things, we had a long weekend. It was Viven’s off last Friday and he worked on Charlize’s scrap table. I have to have one made for her coz she’s invading my space!
I’ll take a pic when it’s all painted and “dolled up”.
Saturday was a full day. 10am we headed to the Westbank for a Halloween event organized by Viven’s colleagues. It was a chilly day but the sun’s up… beautiful Autumn weather! The girls love to play on the playground and after lunch had a blast decorating their pumpkins.

A glitter-y pumpkin and a three eyed alien pumpkin anyone?

Then a pony ride before we left {can’t miss that}, it completes the outing. 1 pm we headed back to the Eastbank for Charlize’s school fair. She performs at 2:30 pm but we have to be there by 2 pm so they can practice a bit.

She’s part of the Spirit Squad, the little cheerleaders. After 3rd grade, you can join the school’s cheerleading team.

Then her class performed at 3:30pm. After that we were free to explore the fair.

Oh and the ribbon on her hair was made from my ribbon stash. Forgot they need a blue or yellow or white bow, what to do?
We left the fair at 4pm, had some rest and headed out to a friend’s house for dinner. Jasper was not feeling well, so he had to stay home and rest. Poor guy…
After all that activity, we stayed home on Sunday and practically lazed around the house. Monday was a school holiday for Charlize {clean up day after the fair}. She had a play date with Isabella, so dropped her off at 10-ish then went on some errands. Fetched her at 1-ish and we headed to Elmwood for some fun.
See, told you it was a long weekend… Have a happy day everyone!
